MELANCHOLY
Examiner Mary Jane Watson has come a long way since her upside down kiss with masqueraded Peter Parker. Named best actress at Cannes;Melancholy is undoubtedly one of her best works (Kirsten Dunst) date. Its Justine's (Kirsten Dunst) wedding day! Clearly depressed beyond fathomable legend she seems to get that meeting etiquette towards nurturing sister Claire (Charlotte Gainsbourg) and her husband John (Kiefer Sutherland) who have thrown her lavish wedding party on their property. Is there anything that Justine is aware. is there anything holding back her from her own wedding party, what can this be? What makes Justin doesn't even notice her husband Michael (Alexander Skarsgard) on their wedding night? What does he do what she is doing on the golf course? Justin knows something that nobody else does?
It is clear that the world will melancholy. endsThe film is set in a beautiful, enchanting Overture to Richard "Tristan and Isolde". A mime is a hassle but personally that I thought was actually a bit too far. Justine standing while living creatures fall from heaven, Claire is shown fighting her way through the golf course is carrying her son and run for life. Director Lars Von Trier show then suddenly melancholy collided with the Earth and the Earth as we know it is destroyed!
Lars Von Trier, whose work I have never experienced seeps through as a mastermind. Melancholy although is extremely difficult to watch, and now when I make this paragraph it appears extremely difficult to forget, is the unorthodox script really worth mentioning at the Oscars in 2012. But given the Golden Globe Awards that took place and its candidates and winners the chance to even a mention may be unlikely. This assumption is based on Golden Globe motto "Road to the Oscars"!
Melancholy is a film by damnation of humanity? It is a reflection of all our faults and how it will be dealt with by a GRATER power than man? Or is it just a coincidence that we happen to be in the way of the blue (melancholy) planets pave? In both cases the prologue clearly for some emphasize that there will be no hope for the planet Earth or us! What an appropriate theme to bring forth in a time where there is widespread panic and theories about the end of the Mayan calendar! Smart is what Lars Von Trier is indeed …
Is this that the world is supposed to stop? Both with a bang and in silence?
