A love story between two ends of a continent and a history that is unique in his time, a story of love and chance that would make the female romantics stomachs turn. Some films will actually last a lifetime. Some may be just as powerful as FORREST GUMP, few can give life a tragedy that came across the THE TITANICunsinkable ship, certain films may be deemed to be the next step in THE GLADIATOR photo and then there are those select few whose names remain, but history has been forgotten over time sleepless in SEATTLEas. Each time you keep the DVD into your player, it is certain that it will move you and reach out to you just as much as it did, however, the very first time.

Tom Hanks who stole your heart away as Forrest and showed true grit with CAST AWAY Chuck in the solo part is always remembered fondly by fans of these magical characters he played. Meg Ryan Venus from the 1990s was probably in any romcom which made a mark. Sleepless in SEATTLE, you've GOT mail, CITY OF ANGELS and when a MAN LOVES a WOMAN are titles that cannot be forgotten if you truly are a fan of the genre. Ryan and Hanks in one of the earliest of their performances that together make a near perfect score with sleepless in SEATTLE.

It is said that there is no greater gift than the gift of love. It is actually true. We all have an emotional connection in our life to someone who is completely mysterious. There is a connection on a Platonic level unlike attraction of lust. This value of love has been vantolkas entirely in Hollywood today and movies with such innocent intentions are quite rare. SIS by Director Norah Ephron holds to the idea of Platonic Love. It actually personifies the mere idea of the Platonic connections between two people. Norah Ephron, who has a knack for films in this category are actually his work to heart. It is clear especially with her desire to always casting Meg Ryan. Next, it is very seasonal touch (most films shown during the holiday season) she put on them and then the media she uses to bring her lover. Two people who have never seen or heard of each other, fall in love over a radio show and in another instance rivals in activities covered by love in a chat room. With due credit to the writers who conjured up script, BRAVO!

Sam Baldwin (Tom Hanks) and his 8 year old son Jonah Baldwin (Ross Malinger) hit by surprise when their wife/mother Maggie is suddenly removed. Devastated by the loss of his wife Sam and son Jonah leaves Chicago and move all the way to Seattle with hopes to go ahead and start a new life. 18 months down the line, Sam still mourns the loss of Maggie and goes to function in. outside her memories. Young Jonah that's smart for his age, understand their ancestors ' grief and wishes only to see him happy. On Christmas Eve, Jonah calls on a radio talk show and explains to host their fathers situation and then Sam that lands on your phone, pouring his heart in the ether of his love for Maggie. Sam is heard across the country for those who are tuned in, including Annie (Meg Ryan) who operates over her fiancés parents ' home for Christmas Eve dinner. Annie who unwittingly represents the wish of Sam during the days lose focus on Walter (Bill Pullman); her fiancé and entirely depended on a stranger she has never met not seen all his life. Is it even possible? To fall in love with only one vote and a story, never sees nor to know who it is?

Ocean’s Eleven (2001)

AppId is over the quota

Ocean’s Eleven is a film that works almost solely because of how suave, sophisticated and downright sexy its characters are. The dialogue they get to deliver is clever, they’re sharply dressed, and they’re charming so that we automatically want to see more of them. This is a heist movie, and as such, the leads are actually the bad guys who steal from hard working people. They need to be endearing to us so that we want to watch them work.

The plot, like many heist films, involves a group of people, all with specific jobs, who want to steal something from someone. In this case, that something is over $150 million, and that someone is named Terry Benedict (Andy Garcia). All that’s left is to identify our cast of characters, and figure out how to steal that large sum of money. Like the title indicates, eleven men will be performing this heist.

The first one we meet is Danny Ocean (George Clooney), who has just been released from prison. He tried to steal something before, got caught, and was locked away for four years. He claims that after his wife, Tess (Julia Roberts) left him, he had a breakdown and went insane, causing the theft. When questioned if, when released, he’d slip into such a state of mind again, he replies with “She already left me once. I don’t think she’d do it again just for kicks.” This was the first time I laughed, and it was only a minute or so into the picture. I would laugh during many more moments.

Danny goes to visit his friend Rusty (Brad Pitt), who has been teaching celebrities how to play cards. They’re not very good, with one of them believing that he’d won a round with “all reds,” despite having a mixture of diamonds and hearts. I guess that watching people play on TV is a better way to learn than actually getting an instructor, or maybe it was just a self-parody turn by the five people sitting at that table. Regardless, Danny convinces Rusty to help him steal the cash, so they embark on a quest to get the rest of the cast together.

This group consists of Bernie Mac, Casey Affleck, Don Cheadle, Carl Reiner, Elliott Gould, Scott Caan, Eddie Jemison, Shaobo Qin and Matt Damon. Each one has a specialized skill; Qin is a contortionist, Cheadle blows things up, Damon is good at espionage, and so on. Each member has a role to play, and each one does it well. They’re also all such likable people so that even though they’re performing a crime, we want to see them get away with it. Oh, and Danny Ocean wants to win his ex-wife back while they’re at it. Fun!

You know how the rest of the movie goes, assuming you’ve seen a heist movie before. We watch everything go down while narration plays overhead. We eagerly await for things to test the characters’ wits and need for precise timing, all while hoping that they’ll overcome the inevitable difficulties, steal whatever they want, while getting away scot-free. And if the antagonist — who I’ll remind you is generally a good person who hasn’t done anything wrong — gets to have his face rubbed in the crime afterward, well, it’s all for the best.

Heist movies generally go either way for me. Sure, they’re almost all very predictable, but if they’re done in a sophisticated manner, and they give us some thrills along the way, I’ll enjoy them. If they’re competent, but have nothing special to offer us, then I usually won’t have much fun, because I’ll see everything coming and won’t be distracted by whatever that intangible element could be.

Thankfully, Ocean’s Eleven has that thing that makes it special, and in this case, it’s the characters. Each one is unique enough for us to tell the difference between them (the distinct jobs for the heist helps as well), but they’re all charming people as well, delivering sharp dialogue that helps to keep us engaged. The caper itself only actually takes about 30 minutes, with the rest of the film taking its time in getting everyone together, and setting up the theft.

When we finally get to that point, it’s incredibly thrilling. I was surprised to find out how badly I wanted to see the criminals win, and have everything go right when they’re performing their job. I didn’t want the antagonist, the good person who happens to have enough money to run multiple casinos, to catch them. This takes skill, and I was impressed by director Steven Soderbergh’s ability to have us empathize with these characters, who in an action movie would be the bad guys.

I think that some of the credit has to go to the actors too, many of whom had a pretty solid resume going into the making of Ocean’s Eleven. There are a great deal of recognizable faces here, and knowing the actors often helps you care about their character, especially if you have liked previous roles from that actor. The low point of the film comes from Don Cheadle, who, for reasons that are never really explained, decided to put on an awful Cockney accent for his part. If he hadn’t lambasted this decision in interviews following the film’s release, I would have assumed it was satirical. It was just that bad.

Ocean’s Eleven is a film that succeeds on the backs of its ensemble cast, because without them, we’d have a generic heist movie. Since we have such an outstanding cast of characters, we get a great film. The heist itself is quite thrilling thanks to how much we empathize with the characters, and it ends up being a very rewarding experience, one that I’d recommend to anyone, especially fans of heist movies.

Ocean's Twelve (2004)

Loading ...Loading ...

Otherwise, I understand the logic behind the Oceans twelve. After Ocean's Eleven was a huge success, told the people behind it they could go ahead with a sequel. But they were confident that people do not want to see the same thing again, so they decided to have a larger cast, more (smaller) heists and three "villains" for us to root against. On paper, all of this makes sense, except for possibly "less" part.

We start with a knock on your front door Danny Ocean (Clooney Geordge) and Tess (Julia Roberts) houses. Guess who's back? That's right, this is the antagonist from the previous film, Terry Benedict (Andy Garcia). Danny is not at home, so he leave a terrible message for Tess: thieves from the first film has two weeks to pay him back his 163 million dollars and interest or they will all be dead. He goes to every other Member of the Group and tells them the same things. Why Tess or Danny not phone the others and tell them to get out of dodge does not explain, but it gets a pass because it is a good way to show us any member of the original eleven, while also letting us see what they have done their time after to get away with millions of dollars.

I am not going to describe the vote again, if you look in the ocean eleven sequel, you should already know who they are. Instead, I reckon additions. Catherine Zeta-Jones and starring as detective stationed in Amsterdam, as we see in the opening scene was romantically involved with Brad Pitt's character, Rusty. She spends most of his time chasing our group of thieves around, but as she and Rusty were involved before, which will come up as Tess and Danny's relationship did in the previous film. Vincent Cassel plays a rival thief and our third major antagonist, although it would have been nice to see more of him, since he only shows after the midpoint, and not keep frequently, and on the road as he pleases.

So the gang gets back together and are aware that arrive with 190 million dollars will be quite difficult. They decide to fly to Amsterdam in hopes to find a job. They have one, but it is only worth EUR 2.3 million, nowhere near enough to pay off their debts. They take it anyway, and this is only a few thefts will take up most of our time for the rest of the film.

Why the Ocean's Eleven worked so well was its casting, so it made sense to bring back the same people to do a sequel. But this film played more to how their careers had done up to this point. This time, there are signs that may far more screen time than the other, while those who are missing in time get put in jail as an excuse. When we arrive in Amsterdam, you do not see much of Bernie Mac, Eddie Jemison as, Elliott Gould, Scott Caan and Carl Reiner, although the latter not even accompany them on the trip, citing age based.

Instead, we get a lot of George Clooney, Brad Pitt and Matt Damon, which I suppose makes sense because they make the most money, but helps it feels like a group dynamic. The character is all still sophisticated and not take everything too seriously, but there is a lack of focus on them and more action, which is a shame. If I wanted to see more of these characters, I would probably be better to look at Ocean's Eleven "again, because I can get more out of it.

This would not be too big problems to overcome if it was good, but there is something special. We move from place to place, forget about everything that happened before. For example, seems to be mostly on the screen, characters that are not urgent because they seem to forget that they will be killed in less than two weeks. There is not too often, and they spend much time meandering around. In a scene is George Clooney is asking people if he looks 50 years old, and that is all that is happening. If my life was on the line, would I be concerned about how old I was watching.

There are still smart moments, however. Bruce Willis reveals at one point playing himself, while one of heists means that Julia Roberts ' character, Tess, stop playing good, Julia Roberts. They look naturally both, so the votes are trying to use the appearance to get past a bunch of security, only to be stopped by Willis who claims to be a friend of Roberts. It was pretty funny, but it was also the point where I stopped losing interest because I knew how we had to put an end to this point. If filmmaker does not take this seriously anymore, no ending is difficult to predict.

Otherwise Oceans becomes twelve never a chore to watch, but not if you're trying to make sense of it all, or if you are hoping for a big heist that in the first film. It's just a plain Capers film, focusing on a plot of land that jump from point to point as a comic book moved from joke for joke, instead of the characters. It can actually be a better movie to some, but for me it's just done it seems unfocused and sometimes not so fun to watch, even if all the actors seem to be enjoying themselves.

Oceans twelve remains overall a fun look at, but no specific one which made the Ocean's Eleven large. Characters that appeared to be on vacation, have fun, but do nothing of value, while the group dynamic collapsed, many of them in prison for most of the time spent abroad. And yet, as there are no cleverness to jumpy plot, and because the actors who seemed to have fun, it's hard to dislike it, don't go in expecting another Ocean's Eleven, but because it is not as good as that film was.

The above author's byline must be attached to work on is deployed.

Shame

Loading ...Loading ...

Shame-the film about a New York sex addicts with down in his own obsession, leaving a trail of unfulfilled relationships his way. The film was directed by Steve McQueen, the guy who gave us the controversial 2008 film Hunger, and again his film stars Michael Fassbender, this time as sex addicts, Brandon Sullivan, who receives a surprise visit from his equal as disturbed sister, Sissy Sullivan, played by English actress Carey Mulligan.
Shame is an interesting intrusive film that balances on the surface of a wide variety of subjects, but who never seem to quite know where direct its focus. The result is a story with an inconsistent flow, making it difficult to suspend your disbelief and be involved in what is happening on the screen.

The film begins by introducing the Brandon Sullivan as a successful businessman that balances life work with his personal life as a sex addict. Every morning he wakes up with a new girl in his bed, he watches the excessive amounts of Porn and masturbates as he has had a chance. As the film progresses the boundaries between work and personal life is beginning to blur, and when his sister, Sissy, one night shows in his apartment without warning, convincing Brandon to allow her to stay, things quickly start to escalate. With his sister around Brandon no longer has the freedom to exercise their sexual urges freely as before, and this leads him to begin to recognise the full scope of its problems, and soon he and Sissys relationship is put to the test when they both become aware of their mutual problems caused by the family's troubled past. The questions then become: are any of them strong enough to do something about it, and you can actually help someone if you are concerned about?

Mary Harron American Psycho with its emotionally detached portray the main character somewhat resembling shame, but the difference between the two is that American Psycho Patrick Bateman is aware his lifestyle, no shame shame is if Brandon Sullivan and how he manages his shame that "different" while trying to still retain the façade of success.

Plot-Wise shame has several loose ends and portrayal of Brandon's obsession with sex might have shown more clearly, because it is not until very late in the film you actually think Brandon might have a problem that is more serious than him just be an average guy who happens to enjoy sex a lot! The script is also quite Loose. For example, Brandon and Sissys background only touched on a very short, giving the impression of a lazy writer. Declaration that the light should either have completely omitted or has been further developed, either, which would have given the film a stronger message. By completely exclude any explanation of Brandon's background a more contemporary portrayal would have been made, such as American Psycho did with great success. By developing the background for the two siblings additional on the other hand, one would be more curious because you would get an idea of how, why, they have developed such extreme attitudes toward love and sex.

Besides the plot problems, there is a problem with acting. Interaction between Brandon and Sissy seems rather forced and awkward; something I can't figure out if deliberate to expose their uneasy relationship, or if there is a problem with acting. No matter what, never seems to fully convince me. Portrayal of Brandon which individual is acceptable, but I think the mental aspects of Brandon's addiction undetected sufficiently thoroughly, either by deed or by close-up pictures of Brandon's facial expressions.

This is overall a decent film that deserves a display, if not for the plot and acting, then for the idea and well framed pictures. This film, however, is certainly not for the faint of heart. It is not for nothing that this film was rated 18. Extreme acts of nudity, sexual intercourse, masturbation and urinating are exhibited in shame, and dare to try to unveil the decline of a sex addict do just that, and that is where the quality of the film lies – in the intrusion of the story and picture. The title of the film reveals the layer that this movie has to offer: it wants to explore the shame that Brandon feels, but at the same time very graphic pictures this film consists of allowing the viewer to explore their own disgrace, its own limits on what is acceptable and not-and the people who walked out during the screening, I assume this film was far beyond their borders!
